Step 1 Warming-up
1. Review the text of Unit 1.
2. Show some pictures, ask the students to look at the pictures, then talk something about the pictures.
3. Introduce the new words.

1. Look at the pictures in Activity 1.
2. Read the words in the box in Activity 1.
3. Ask the students to match the words and expressions from the box with the pictures
4. Say what the people are doing..
Step 3 Read the news report and match the paragraphs with the pictures in Activity 1.

全世界共分24个时区,每15度为一个时区,英国的格林威治为零时区,北京为东8区。推算方法:东加西减。

Step 6 Writing
Find out what time it is now in London, Moscow, New York AND Los Angeles. Write sentences about what people are doing or aren’t doing. Join sentences with and or so.
In London, it’s… and people are leaving…. In Beijing, it’s… so people aren’t…
Step 7 Reading
1. Read the postcard
2. Check (√) the true sentences.
3. Call back the answers from the whole class.
