1. In parts of India, people use their fingers to pick up the food.

“pick up” 意为“拿起，捡起，接某人”。如：

2. if和whether引导的宾语从句。
1）if和whether都可引导宾语从句，意为“是否”。如：
I’m not sure if/whether Kate can make biscuits.  我不能确定Kate是否会做饼干。
2)whether可于or not 连用，而if则不能。如：
She doesn’t know whether or not Jack is in the classroom now.
她不知道Jack现在是不是在教室。
3. 副词的比较级和最高级
1）表示“一方比另一方做得更……”要用副词的比较级，其结构为“副词比较级+than…”。
如：Kangkang comes to school earlier than Jane.康康比Jane到校早
2）表示“一方在多方中做得最……”时用副词的最高级，其结构为：
“the + 副词最高级 + in/of…（比较范围）”，意为“某人或某物在某范围内最……”，副词最高级前可省略the 。如：
Jane did best of the three girls.        Jane在三个女孩中做得最好。
