Step1: Lead—in
Show some pictures of Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, the Lake District. What is it? What country is it in? What else do you know about the UK?
Now let’s do a survey.
Step2: Presentation
The UK is a very beautiful country. If you want to learn more about this country,turn to page 46 and look at Amy’s chart.
If you want to introduce a country,what can you talk about?
S: We talk about its location, capital, history, places of interest, the best time to visit, weather, money and so on.(T: We can also talk about its culture, festivals, people, famous, universities and food.
Step3: Reading \
Amy has written an introduce to the UK. Read her article and tell the main idea of each paragraph.
Listen to the radio,read after it.
Underline the phrases: an island country, be made up of, have a long history, be famous for, places of natural beauty, such as, the best time to visit the UK, prepare for…\
Step4: Writing
Your foreign friends are very interested in China. Can you introduce China to them? First, make a chart about China.
