1. 语音知识:通过对本模块两个单元单词中出现的语音知识的讲解来扩充语音(希望同学们通过这部分课外知识的积累,提高识词能力和背记单词的能力)。
下面学习本模块中的单词:
a. thousand 一千,一千个,作量词没有复数,
与不具体数字连用
thousand(s) of 数以千计的。
th有两个读音,一个是清辅音[θ],用于实词中和单词词尾(也有例外如:with),另一个是浊辅音[e],是在虚词和ther组合中,如:thumb both the brother
b. kilometre公里,其它常用长度单位有米metre,centimetre厘米,公分
c. might可能,可以。i在ght, nd, ld前读自己名称音,如:right, find, child(children)等。
d. million 百万,百万个,与thousand用法相同。英语中数的级有三级:千,百万,十亿(billion)。汉语个、十、百、千、万、十万、百万等都有。英语没有那么多级,只有三个级:数字的读法:

2. Module 1的第一单元是告诉学生Daming今年暑假去了美国纽约,拜访了他的堂兄Simon,通过告诉他的堂兄他们无法步行走遍长城:We can’t walk all of the Great Wall. It’s too long !引出本单元学习的内容:如何问物体的高度、长度、年代等问题。
课文详解:
A. tell sb. sth.告诉某人某事。tell sb.to do sth.告诉某人做某事。如:Tell him about your school. Tell me more about this place! Tell your son to go to school. Tell your son not to be late for school.
B. want? (sb.) to do sth.想要(某人)做某事。
也可以用want (sb.)sth.想要某人,某物。
如:I want some bread.
He wants to buy some books.
My mother wants me to work hard.
Li Lei’s parents want him not to lose this chance.
C. go there 去那。去某地的句型是:go to sw.但去的地点用方位副词表示时,省略to. 如: go to, school , go to bed, go home, go there
D. 课文中的Li 是非国际单位制,1万里(Li)=5000公里(Kilometres)。让Simon得知长城之长,进而对年代产生了兴趣。more than 是超过,在……以上。表达不具体数字时常用,还可以用about 表大约。
Module 1的第二单元是回答和描述物体的高度、长度、年代等问题的方法。
下面学习问答物体高度、长度、年代等问题的方法:
问:How +adj.+is+物体名称? 答:It’s (He/She is)+数量+数量单位+adj.
该形容词是表物体属性的,如:长度、高度、年代的词:long, tall, high, old, wide, far, heavy, deep much 等……
举例:How tall are you? I’m 1.6 metres tall.? How high is the hill? It’s 200 metres high.
tall 与 high的区别:明显的区别是前者从地面算起的高度,后者是相对地面或某一物体的相对高度。
练习翻译下列句子:
1. 这个博物馆历史有多久?它已经有上百年的历史了。
How old is this museum ? It’s about hundreds of years old.
2. 那个建筑多高?大约有数百米吧。

将军和驴子
