1)听:能听懂Unit 2的对话,借助图片在课文的录音中能听懂单词place building。
2)说: A. 能正确地说出描述建筑物的句子,如: It’s twenty metres tall. It’s….
        B. 能谈论Activity 2中的各图。
3)读:在录音或图片的帮助下,能正确、较流利地朗读本单元对话。
4)写:A. 能看图选择正确的词填空。
       B. 能根据图片完成句子。
学习策略:积极与他人合作共同完成任务;
     积极运用所学英语进行表达与交流。 
情感态度1)使学生乐于用英语与他人交流  2)培养学生乐于与他人合作的态度。
文化意识:通过Simon对家乡建筑的介绍,了解中外不同的建筑风格。

一、Greeting 
二、Warming up:
 
1. To listening to a song: The Great Wall of China.
2. To play a card game: Find friends:
T: Four in one, please. Help these words find their friends. For example, old, short, fat, thin, …ect .Clear?
(Group A: the Great Wall, Big Ben, Summer Palace, Stonehenge
Group B: long, short, big, small, tall, fat , thin, old, new, beautiful
Group C: kilometre, metre, decimetre, centimetre,)
3. To play a guessing game:
T: 1)  It’s an old place. It’s more than two thousand years old. It’s very long, ten thousand li long. 
2)  It’s a big and old clock. It’s very big. It’s in England.
3)  It’s a beautiful place. There are many old, old things in it. It’s in Gulangyu Island. (PPT: Xiamen Museum)
三、Pre-task:
1. Showing the task:
T: Today we will play many guessing games. They are all very interesting. If you can do them well, you will get many presents. Boys and girls, guess, first. Who will be the winner? Bob, Jane or …? Ok, study hard from now. 
2. (Leading in)T: Just now we talked about Xiamen Museum. It’s a beautiful building, isn’t it? (PPT: building -- To teach the new word: building ) As you see, we have got a beautiful museum. Simon has got a beautiful museum, too. It’s in England. Today he will tell us their museum. How old is the museum? 
3. To check understanding of the dialogue:
a. Ss Listen to a dialogue and find out the answer. 
(Answer: It’s two hundred years old.)
b. T: What’s in the museum? What’s in the beautiful place  ( To teach the new word: place )? 
 (Answer: It’s a clock.)
c. T: How tall is the clock? (Listen to the dialogue again)
         (Answer: It’s fifty metres high.)
4. T: You’ve done very well. Now read the dialogue after the CD-ROM. Try to imitate it.
 
四、While task:
1. A competition:
T(with gesture): Ok. Look at the pictures in Activity 2. (After a while) Now I want you to have a competition in your pairs. Please listen then point to the right picture quickly .Let’s see who’s the winner in your pair.
2. An exercise: Complete the sentences ( Design for Activity 2 ). 
3. To ask and answer: Ss talk about the pictures of Activity 2
4. Task:
a.  T: Good job, boys and girls. You can talk a lot about the buildings. Ok, Let’s play a guessing game. Look, I’ve got a treasure bag. There are lots of interesting “treasures”. If you are right, you can get it. (T puts her hand into the bag and get one “treasure” ) Listen to me. “ It can run. It has got four wheels. You can drive it. Guess, what is it?” (Answer: It’s a car).  
b.  T: Ok, Who wants to a teacher? (Ss go on playing the games by themselves.)
c.  T: Well done! Do you want to play this game in our classroom? (Yes.) Now find a friend in the class, and play the guessing game. Let’s see who’s the winner. Ok, stand up. Go!  T: Yes. It’s in Beijing. Do you want to see it? 
五、 Post task:
  1. To learn to sing the song.
  2. Assignment:
   a. To copy the new words.
   b. To read the dialogue after the tape five times.
   c. To choose a place / building and introduce it to your family.
