一、教材分析
(一)预设目标
1.教学目标:
语言知识技能目标:
能听、说、认读本单元的单词:pleased, address, pen pal .pretty, foreign
能按照三会要求掌握句子:I / She can speak some English. Can I write to you / her? You can be my Chinese pen pal.
能较为准确、流利地朗读U1的对话
运用能力目标:
以结交笔友为主线,通过介绍自己或描述朋友的形式,使学生学会运用can句型描述自己或他人的能力。 
情感态度目标:通过结交笔友的形式,让学生感受友情的重要,同时加强跨文化意识教育,使学生了解各个国家所使用的不同语言
学习策略目标: 
通过课前预习、课堂上自主参与、合作交流的学习方式,发展综合语言运用能力
文化意识目标: 认识新朋友的一些礼仪。
(二)学习重点: 
1)能听说读本课的重点词句pleased, address, pen pal .pretty, foreign;I / She can speak some English. Can I write to you / her? You can be my Chinese pen pal.。
2)能用句型Can I…? Yes, you can…问答自己的能否做的事情。能用 I/ She /He can….  表达自己或他人的能力。
(三)学习难点:
正确使用can与can’t,并且正确区分其读音。

三、教具:教材、CD-ROM, word cards,PPT, information cards.

I.Warm up
1、 Free talk
How are you? Is everyone here? Who is on duty today? How is the weather today? 
II. Revision
1. A game: Listen and do the actions :
write a letter,  run,  swim,  stand,  sit,  jump,  play the violin , play football, …..
2. Then ask and answer: What can you do? I can……
3. A memory game.  
 Eg. 
Sa--- Sb: I can …. 
S b--- Sc: I can….and He can…. 
Sc---Sd: I can.. He can… and She can…. 
III. Lead in 
1、?To show a pen pal’s letter,talk about pen pals.
?T: Today I ‘m so pleased. I’ve got a letter from my pen pal. Have you got a pen pal? 
Ss: ….
IV. Present the task
T: Today we are going to learn how to make a pen friend. Use: I can ….. Can I write to you? Yes, you can be my pen pal.
V. Prepare the task
Task1.
1) T: Right. let’s watch CD—ROM, how can Laura make a pen pal? 
First open your books and watch CD—ROM to find how many “can” and tell me who can be Laura’s pen friend?  Can she write Chinese? How many pen friends can Laura find?  One Chinese , two English  What are their names? Daming, Sam, Amy.
2) Listen for two times then answer the questions
Can ______ you speak English? Yes, I ______
______  I write to your friends? Yes, of course.
________ you be my Chinese pen friend? But I ______ write English. 
New words:
pleased—please区别,拓展:nice\glad
address(es)  my~  your~ his~ her~ their~(read and spell it)
Teach them how to write address. From small place to big place
(介绍 @ 的读法)  write your address on the paper

Task2. 
 Lead the Ss to listen to the tape again
Read  girls and boys
Pairs work 
4) Groups work to finish AB  Show the answers(on CD—ROM)

 Game1: Pass the words to grasp the important sentence in the text.
Can I write to you? You can be my Chinese pen friend.
Task5. Listen , repeat.
VI. Fulfill the task:
1 )反馈任务:
任务的实施: 
T: OK! We learn about the text ,can you tell me how to find pen friend?
(示范) T: First ,look ! I can speak English, Can you speak English?
S1: Yes.
T: Can I write to you? You can be my pen friend.
S1:(引导学生回答)Yes, This is my address .
     T: Thank you very much.
After that let Ss find their pen pal.
VII. Feedback and sum up
Have Ss look at the board and read the main words and the sentences.
VIII.Homework
Listen to the tape and repeat for at least five times.
