Read the passages. Different countries have different greetings and meeting customs. Here are some for us to learn. In China, people shake hands when they meet, or people just say “Ni hao!” (How are you?) Have you eaten? And where are you going? In the United States, people shake hands when they first meet. Friends and family members often hug when they see each other. In Korea, men bow and shake hands to greet each other. Women do not usually shake hands. In Japan, men and women bow deeply when they meet, and men also shake hands as greetings. Just like the women in Korea, women in Japan do not usually shake hands.
